Kardinya Development Report

May and June 2025 had very active building works at Kardinya Park Shopping Centre across multiple fronts. June 2025 marks the fourth anniversary of the total development.

In June 2021 the construction opening ceremony took place with Dr. Con Berbatis, Willagee MP Peter Tinley, Planning Minister Rita Saffioti, Bateman MP Kim Giddens, Melville Councillor Nicole Robins and City of Melville Councillor Duncan MacPhail and South Metro MLC Klara Andric.

New car park

The new multi-deck parking structure has now reached South Street level. The base levels beneath are fully formed. Work has extended east to the signalised main entry. The three level car park is near completion. The final concrete pours will occur in July 2025.

South Street professional centre

The new steel framework and roof structure for the commercial suites on the corner of North Lake Road and South Street are now evident. External cladding and roofing installation are next.

Western retail entry – new Coles front and Liquorland

The new retail precinct in front of Coles is near completion. Coles main entry door is open, and Coles shopping trolleys have been placed inside the store — a sure sign that the supermarket is on track to welcome its first customers in November 2025.

Fit-out works for the relocated new Liquorland near Coles have commenced will be open in November 2025.

Customer amenities

The main mall area is taking shape. New toilet and parenting facilities near Coles are expected to be completed by the end of August.

New South Street access.

Detailed planning for the installation of the new traffic lights at the new entry from South Street together with key roadway modifications are to be done by the civil contractor the Dowsing Group. These were approved by Mai Roads WA and mark the new better entry and access to the centre, Dowsing are scheduled to return to site in October to begin traffic signal installation and key roadway modifications.

New Retailer Updates

Momentum across the Centre continues to build, with several new tenancies preparing to open over the coming months.

Fresh Food Precinct: The new fresh food zone near Coles is now 80% leased. Bakery House and Chicken Rice Corner will soon be joining Five Seasons Fresh and Kardinya Quality Meats, enhancing the centre’s food offering.

Liquorland: The next-generation store, now fully approved, is set to open alongside Coles for the November launch.

Hanoi Corner: Later this year, this popular local eatery will introduce authentic Vietnamese cuisine to the centre, further enriching the dining options in the fresh food precinct.

Aurora Boutique: A much-loved local retailer is making its return, with Aurora Boutique set to reopen next to Shen’s Massage soon, their shop fit out has commenced.

The Kardinya Sunday Markets, also known as the Rotary Swapmart, are a beloved community event held every Sunday morning at the Kardinya Park Shopping Centre in Perth’s southern suburbs. Operating for over two decades, these markets offer a vibrant mix of second-hand, vintage, and handmade treasures.
