Set 30,000 years after the Nyitting Time, join Weitj (Emu), Dwert (Dingo), and Wardong (Crow) as they travel across the Milky Way, on a mission to restore the fading stars – Djinda – to Noongar boodjar (country). Blending Dreaming stories from Australia, Spain, India, and Scotland, Djinda Kaatijin is an interwoven tale that celebrates our shared human connection to the cosmos. Djinda Kaatijin (To Learn about the Stars) is an engaging theatre performance celebrating Noongar culture, storytelling and connection to Country. Created especially for young audiences, the show explores the significance of the stars in storytelling, imagination and creativity. Through song, movement and story, students are encouraged to pause, look up and reflect on the stars, their stories and our shared history. Presented by Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company.
